Phil Garrow is a recent transplant to Pittsburgh, having moved to Oakland with his partner Caitlin Freeman in June of 2009.
Together they run a small web development company that specializes in the development of Search Engine Optimized web sites, SEOPittsburgh.com.
Prior to moving to Pittsburgh, Phil ran a computer support business in Massachusetts for more than a decade. He also worked as a property manager for units catering to college students.
Phil’s degrees are in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science, and he has a background in fine art, creating heroic scale sculpture. Phil is also a photographer, and has created a website to showcase his pictures of Pittsburgh, PicPgh.com. To see one of Phil’s recent installation art projects, visit his website, 3219.us, where he documents how he painted this 40-foot-long URL on the roof of his home to be viewable by Google’s satellite.
Phil began his community activism here in Pittsburgh working to build bicycle and pedestrian links from Oakland to the Three Rivers Heritage Trail. Two of his proposals from his RockAlley.org web site have been listed by Pittsburgh City Planning to be implemented within a five year window from 2012.
Phil is also a skilled technical writer, developing content for the web sites he develops, as well as working on an extensive novel, and a book focusing on autism through the lifecycle.
As Phil runs his business and works to renovate his home here in Pittsburgh, he occasionally sees problems that need to be corrected on a citywide basis. Phil has constructed this site to communicate these problems and ideas for their solutions to Pittsburgh City Government.
Phil welcomes your comments.
